What is reverse osmosis?
Reverse osmosis (RO) is typically used to desalinate salt water or seawater into drinking water. People started boiling water in ancient times to get safe water, but it does not remove salt water. So, they invented condensation process to gain drinkable water. Desalination was achieved by heating water and condensing the steam (distillation): great on a small scale, if you’re a sailor using the sun to produce a cup of water, but terribly energy expensive on a large scale. By using an ultrafine reverse osmosis membrane to push the water through, it leaves salt and impurities on one side and pure water on the other accordingly.
How does reverse osmosis system work?
Reverse Osmosis (RO) is the process of purifying water through a semi-permeable membrane to remove unwanted contaminants and molecules. In regular osmosis, as demonstrated in a thousand high school science lessons across the land, freshwater and salt (or sugar) water are separated by a semi-permeable membrane. The water migrates through the membrane from the weak to the strong solution until the water is equally salty (or sugary) on both sides accordingly.
Meanwhile, this process can be reversed if pressure is applied to the stronger solution. When that happens, water migrates through the semi-permeable membrane away from the dissolved solids. Hence, iIt is this process that is used in reverse osmosis to separate dissolved salts and minerals from your feed water. So, it’s more effective than using inline filter cartridges (which usually use carbon as filter media) and results in up to 98% rejection of dissolved contaminants.
Is reverse osmosis water healthy to drink?

This list is continuing, and as you see, you cannot get necessary minerals from water by drinking accordingly. Because it is not enough, as I told you before, if you drink one standard full of bathtub water, maybe you just cover 10% of your body need.
