How Does Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System Work ?
Water filtration system can be categorized as home, commercial and industrial size. Our company is specialized on commercial water filtration system with capacity range 50 liter per hour to 2000 liter per hour and industrial water filter system, capacity range is 38m3 per day to 7500m3 per day. Chunke commercial and industrial drinking water systems reduce common contaminants found in tap water and deliver better, healthier water for your whole family to enjoy. Also our commercial and industrial water treatment systems reduce unwanted contaminants found it your water (well water, brackish water, sea water, river lake water) and deliver better, usefull, clean water for your industrial application.
Our Water Filtration Systems:
a) Commercial Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration Systems
b) Industrial Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration Systems
c) Containerized Water Filtration System
d) Sand, activated Carbon and Water Softener Water Filtration Systems
e) EDI Electrodeionization Water Filtration System
Before buying a commercial or industrial water filtration system first you have to get water analysis report. This is very important, because all water treatment companies design system as regards to your water source and raw water quality.
Why we need water analysis report for designing reverse osmosis water purification system ?
1. Select materials: Some ingredients in water can be corrosive for some material, such as if your water TDS (total dissolved solids) is very high, it is corrosive for stainless steel, it is not good to choose this kind of material for piping, filter tanks…etc. or if your water has fouling compounds, we have to choose fouling resistance membranes.
2. Decide working pressure of system: High TDS application need higher pressure so when we design the system especially for the pump, we must take care water TDS to choose correct pump at RO Water System. Also, it is related with scaling, fouling problems on membranes. You can use your membranes long time.
3. Choose correct flow rate: This is another technical parameter which effects all system efficiency and energy cost. If we know the raw water analysis report, we can design all system with minimum electrical power and high efficiency at reverse osmosis water treatment plant.
4. Right pre-treatment design: Sometimes, common users think that just RO Membrane Filtration is enough to purify water. But pretreatment, sand water filter system, activated carbon filtration system, water softener system, multi media water filtration system, bag or cartridge filtering systems are as important as reverse osmosis membrane purification. Because if you have stronger pretreatment filtration, your all system efficiency and working become robust.
5. Budget optimization: All customers wants to get best price for water filtration system and for common users all water filter systems are same. But as we mentioned above, it depends on raw water analysis report, you can not use tap water purification system for sea water desalination plant. Because they are completely different. But as regards to your budget we can design system automatic or manual, such as you need 10000 liter water per day, and you buy 1000 liter per hour ro water treatment system and you think your system work 10 hours per day. But your budget limited, maybe to reduce cost you choose manual ro water machine. Instead of this one, we can give to you 500 liter per hour system, automatic and works 20 hours per day, it is cheaper than 1000lph but result can be suitable for you.
We can increase this list more, Chunke as reverse osmosis company, has great experience and knowledge on water treatment industry. We are ISO 9001 certificated reverse osmosis water treatment factory in China with 20 years experienced technical team.
Now, here we explain to you how does water filtration system work?
This is standard reverse osmosis water filtration system flow diagram:
We collect your water from water source in Raw Water Storage Tank, with booster pump, we send water to pretreatment unit, pretreatment filter system can be customized. First filter tank is sand filter (quartz, manganese, or combination of different media), it is responsible to remove big particles, after this one water goes to activated carbon water filter system tank, it is responsible to remove chloride, odor, taste, some organic compounds and chemicals. Activated carbon is porous structure, 1 gram granular carbon has nearly 1000 square meter area. The third water filtering tank is water softener, inside of this tank there is ion exchange resin, it is responsible to remove hardness of water. This all tanks has back wash futures, in a special period, automatic or manual we have to wash filter media inside of the water filter system tanks. Dirty waste water remove from back wash drain pipe. After pretreatment tanks, our water go to cartridge filter housing or bag filter housing, commony we use 1 or 5 micron PP cartridge or bag. It is responsible to protect membranes if any bigger particle pass from pretreatment tanks, therefore we call this filter as security filter. And sometimes, here need adds some chemicals like pH, dichlorination, antiscalant, antifouling , chemical dosing is also a kind of pretreatment system. Now our water is ready to go membrane, reverse osmosis water filtration system is pressure driven technology. Before high pressure pump, system pressure is about 3 Bar, after high pressure pump, system pressure depends on your raw water analysis report. It can 10bar to 120bar or more. High Pressure pump sends water to membranes. Membranes has very small pores, it is 0.001µm, so most of minerals, bacteria. Viruses can not pass it, just water molecules and some very small particles pass membrane.

How does RO reverse osmosis membrane work ?
After ro membrane filtration, we get two output, one is dirty waste water, we call this one as Concentrate Water, other one is clean, pure water, we call this one as Permeate Water. Permeate water also can be treated by UV Sterilizer, Ozone Generator, or chemical adding (pH adjustment, mineral adding…etc). We call this process post water treatment.
